James G. Porcaro
Mr. Porcaro is a partner at Schwarzwald McNair & Fusco LLP. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Akron in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in history. Mr. Porcaro received his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1998 where he graduated cum laude. During law school, Mr. Porcaro was a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association Trial Team and the Labor Law Moot Court Team. He also served as a member of the Moot Court Executive Board and as a Third Year Editor of the Syracuse Journal of Legislation and Policy. He was a recipient of the Moot Court Team Award and the Order of Barristers.
In addition to being admitted to practice in all Ohio courts, Mr. Porcaro has been admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Sixth Circuits and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
Mr. Porcaro advises clients on a wide array of labor and employment issues, including issues relating to negotiations, grievances, representation matters, internal union matters, work stoppages, picketing, handbilling and prevailing wage claims. He represents clients in wage and hour disputes, severance agreements, non-compete agreements and general employment contract matters. Mr. Porcaro represents clients in collective bargaining negotiations, arbitrations, state and federal courts and various administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board, Ohio’s State Employment Relations Board and the National Mediation Board.
Mr. Porcaro has been a speaker at seminars including those held by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee. He was also a Chapter Contributor to the 2005 and 2007 Cumulative Supplements to Labor Union Law and Regulation, which is published by BNA.
Mr. Porcaro has been recognized as one of Ohio’s “Rising Stars.” Only two-and-a-half percent (2.5%) of the attorneys in Ohio are recognized as “Rising Stars.”
