Melvin S. Schwarzwald
Mr. Schwarzwald is partner at Schwarzwald McNair & Fusco LLP. He received his A.B. degree from Harvard College and his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School. In addition to being admitted to practice before all Ohio courts, Mr. Schwarzwald is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Tenth and District of Columbia Circuits, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. Mr. Schwarzwald has been an adjunct professor at Case-Western Reserve University Law School.
Mr. Schwarzwald is General Counsel Emeritus of the Office and Professional Employees International Union, AFL-CIO, CLC (OPEIU). The OPEIU has over 105,000 members in the United States and Canada and has its International offices in New York City.
Mr. Schwarzwald has negotiated hundreds of collective bargaining agreements for unions in many industries, including numerous agreements for musicians of symphonic, opera and ballet orchestras. He has also made presentations at national, regional and local seminars on labor law issues. Many of his papers have been published by the AFL-CIO, labor unions, bar associations and other groups sponsoring these seminars.
Since the first edition of Best Lawyers in America published in 1983, Mr. Schwarzwald has been included in this peer selected listing for his representation of labor unions and individuals in employment matters.
